It really starts today…

I am sitting with Jan in the coffee shop 😉 of the nice old-style Silver Springs hotel, which is located in a quite green part of the Kenyan capital and has been hosting us for the last 4 nights. With espresso and chef salad, we let pass (part of) the intense time that has passed with meetings, mini-conferences and traffic in quick succession and exchange our handyphotos via whatsapp. In less than an hour, the pre-ordered taxi (as the driver keeps his promise) will pick us up and take us to the airport. There, the “rest” (5 of 6) of the delegation from the TH Brandenburg will arrive and will fly together with me tomorrow morning to Kisumu (Lake Victoria) and from there by minibus to our destination, the MMUST to Kakamega. Unfortunately, Jan (Mugele, Professor of Renewable Energy at Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences) will not be there anymore (he flies back to Berlin shortly after midnight to continue his world trip to America ;-). For the first time, we will take a closer look at six of our partners MMUST (Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology) (as far as that is possible in 5 days). The aim is to identify the (subject) areas in which the two universities will be able to work together in the future in order to help universities in Kenya (in our case in Western Kenya) to work in a more practical way.
